Robin and Tony Malatino purchased the property that would become Sugar Plum Farm in 2005 and transformed it into one of New York's premier Thoroughbred breeding farms over the years.

Introducing Sugar Plum Farm Foundation
Sugar Plum Farm Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides children from underserved communities with immersive experiences in nature, animal care, entrepreneurship, and life skills. Through hands-on interaction with farm animals and participation in real-world business projects, students will develop confidence, responsibility, leadership, and practical skills that will help prepare them for future success.
The Inspiration Behind Our Mission
In Honor of Tony Malatino
Robin and Tony Malatino built Sugar Plum Farm as a welcoming place where animals and people could come together and form special connections. They are deeply passionate about aftercare for retired racehorses, believing that every animal deserves purpose, dignity, and a second chance beyond the racetrack. They always knew that caring for animals in all stages of life would be an important part of the farm's mission.
Tony believed that every child deserves the opportunity to experience joy, connection, and confidence through meaningful time spent with animals and nature. He understood that some of life's most important lessons are learned through responsibility and simply being given the chance to belong.
Robin and Tony believe that where a child starts in life should never determine how far they can go. After Tony's passing, Robin carried that shared vision forward by partnering with Tony's elementary school through the Sugar Plum Farm Foundation, creating opportunities for children to learn, grow, and discover what is possible.The Sugar Plum Farm Foundation was created to give children the opportunities, experiences, and encouragement to dream beyond their circumstances.
