December 2025 Just before the Christmas holiday, Crystal and Belinda visited ROOTS Academy in Albany to serve cider and cookies to the students. They were delighted to have us there, and many of them told us they had never tasted fresh cider before. It was a great afternoon and gave us a chance to spend time with the students in their own environment. Although spring has been slow to arrive, The Sugar Plum Farm Foundation has been busy welcoming school groups on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Children from ROOTS Academy have been visiting the farm, grade by grade, to spend time outdoors, interact with the animals, and enjoy the open space and green grass. Their enthusiasm is contagious as they groom donkeys, play with mini goats, and kick a ball on the lawn. A simple lunch is served in our pavilion, after which it’s back outside
